Built in the late 1970s the Abbey Golf Course, South Birmingham has now matured into a fine championship standard parkland course measuring over 6,500 yards.
Designed by Donald Steel, one of Britain's leading golf course architects, this South Birmingham golf course has been extensively upgraded and lengthened in recent years. Home to the Best Western Senior Masters final in 2006 and the Abbey PGA ProAm in 2011, the course now regularly hosts county matches and high profile corporate days.
The layout includes matured trees, lakes and on the whole the fairways are wide with the rough not too punishing, the picturesque 7th is a 192 yard drive from the medal tee with the green surrounded on three sides by the river Arrow. The 13th is a challenging uphill par 4 drive between two mature oak trees at 250 yards with the green concealed out of sight at the top of the hill.

The Abbey Hotel Golf & Spa in Reddith have announced construction of their new 2 tier, 28 bay golf driving range due to be open to the public in November 2012.
The completed project will provide the best practice and coaching facility of its kind in the Worcestershire-Birmingham area. Including heated bays and automated ball dispensers.

Getting there
Located on the northern boundary of Redditch town between Beoley village and Bordesley village. Five minutes drive from the M42 (J2), 15 minutes from the NEC and Birmingham Airport. Stratford and Birmingham City Centre are only about 20 minutes drive.

From the M42 motorway, Junction 2, take the Redditch exit, A441, for approximately 2 miles. At the first roundabout turn left, signposted Redditch Town Centre. After a further mile turn left at the traffic lights, signposted Beoley, B4101. Turn right after approximately 500 metres into Hither Green Lane. The hotel is immediately on the left
