Resort Summary

The magic of St Marys is in its unique combination of buildings which still retain their old world charm, situated in 150 acre of parkland nestled in the Vale of Glamorgan within 2 minutes of the M4.

The clubhouse was originally a stone coach house while the 16th century farmhouse with its thick stonewalls and beamed ceilings blends into a sophisticated extension and beautiful courtyard.

Facilities include a 24-bedroom luxury hotel with modern furnishing and fittings. There are two dining areas, La Casa de Ferranti that overlooks the golf course and Rafters restaurant its name originating from the oak rafters that can be seen throughout the restaurant. There are two bars, a spike bar and a lounge bar. In addition there is also a conference centre, an 18-hole Championship golf course, the 12 hole Kingfisher golf course, chipping and putting greens, changing rooms and a golf shop.

The championship golf course is maturing into one of the most picturesque and well conditioned courses in the Vale of Glamorgan. It demands a degree of imagination to manoeuvre your way around the mature oaks, bunkers and hazards, yet provides a fair test for every standard of golfer.

From concept to finished product, a golf course goes through an abundance of change - from the tee and green positions to the placement of the water hazards. This is certainly true of the Kingfisher 12 hole course.

From a cornfield flanked by a damp woodland to a golf course, and it is the woodland that houses surely three of the most talked about holes in South Wales!


There are 24 en-suite rooms, with luxurious fittings. Nine rooms are situated in the oldest part of the building, offering the charm of period features such as beamed ceilings, original stone walls and fireplaces. The Executive suite is set high in the rafters, providing panoramic views of the the golf course and the surrounding countryside.

La Casa de Ferranti was born out of the passion for authentic Mediterranean cooking and willingness to create and replicate native cuisine, keeping the dishes true to their origin. Ingredients are sourced with care, often directly from the Mediterranean and the menu changes seasonally to take advantage of the best that is available.

Lounge Bar and Sun Terrace

Imagination and careful thought has been exercised to retain the character and charm which is St. Mary's. The lounge bar with it's rustic beams, stone walls and antique bric-a-brac blends perfectly together to create an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. A fine selection of beers, wines and spirits are served from the mahogany and stone bar.

Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales Near the M4
Nearest airport: Cardiff
Travel options: Leave the M4 at Junction 35 and take the exit signposted Pencoed A473. You will come to a roundabout, take the third exit signposted St. Mary's. Follow that road for approximately 600 meters which will bring you to a small roundabout, continue over the roundabouot and you will pass under a bridge. You will find us 100 meters past the bridge on your left hand side.
