Food and Drink
Esperante, the jewel in the crown of dining at Fairmont St Andrews, an AA rosette awarded restaurant with a Mediterranean influence. Rich terracotta tones, rustic browns and olive greens coat the room and heighten its dramatic Tuscan atmosphere. The menu provides a combination of the flavours and cooking styles of the Mediterranean using the finest, local Scottish ingredients. The menu is enhanced with an exciting variety of wines and champagnes from the Mediterranean basin. A fine dining experience, the restaurant has an intimate feel with a relaxed atmosphere.
The hotels principal restaurant, The Squire is named after Gene 'The Squire' Sarazen the golfing legend and a past winner of the Grand Slam. The restaurant provides a brasserie style dining experience, located within the Atrium. The menus emphasis is on Scottish dining with a contemporary twist. Seasonally changed, the menu created provides an eclectic mix of Scotlands larder with an excellent variety of flavours.
The Clubhouse enjoys stunning panoramic views over both championship golf courses, (Torrance and Kittocks) and the majestic skyline of St Andrews. Ideal for soaking up the atmosphere by day or an informal dinner by night, the restaurant truly enjoys an unforgettable sea view setting. The menu offers golfers favourites and home style cooking. The signature dish of Pittenweem haddock in a beer batter and chips, is a must try. Located just a few moments from the main hotel, the shuttle bus will transport you to and from the Clubhouse at your convenience.
For a more informal atmosphere you may wish to visit the Atrium, The Kittocks Den or The Rock & Spindle. This selection of lounges and bars offer guests an ideal sanctuary to sit back and take in the stunning surroundings over a refreshing drink, snack or light meal. The Atrium is a light and airy space capped by a glass roof complimented large sofas offering a very relaxing and comfortable setting. Kittocks Den is a seductive and relaxing lobby bar with earthy tones and comfortable seating throughout. It is ideal during the day for a hearty lunch of soup, sandwiches and salads or for an evening supper offering a menu with an emphasis on grilled meat and fish. The Rock & Spindle is an easy going sports bar that offers a selection of bar snacks and nibbles to share whilst sports enthusiasts savour some of the worlds most iconic games and matches. If you prefer to take part then the pool table, dart board and a variety of board games are available for your enjoyment.

Travel options: There are four major international airports that guests may fly into. Edinburgh Airport (EDI), Glasgow Airport (GLA), Aberdeen Dyce Airport (ABZ), and Dundee Airport (DND). Dundee is the closest airport, located approximately 15 miles or about a 25 minute drive from the resort. The resort is also easily accessible by train. The nearest station is Leuchars on the main line from London, Edinburgh and Aberdeen (20-minutes away from Fairmont St. Andrews). St Andrews may be reached by car, taxi or by bus from Leuchars - Taxi fair is approximately 15 GBP. The Concierge will be happy to advise on any transportation requirements such as transfers, car hire, and chauffeur services.
